Nokia 5230 Hacking Tutorial
If you have used a symbian smartphone before you may be aware that Nokia has introduced a cumbersome signing process as a security measure to install apps, games and themes. To get rid of it the only solution is hacking your cellphone. Hacking lets you install all the applications, games and themes directly without signing. There is a very cool free application to do this task called Helloox2 but it is unsigned so you will need to sign it first before installation. Follow the simple procedure with screenshots to hack your Nokia 5230 smartphone.

Go to http://cer.opda.cn/en/. Register and Login.

After logging in, click on “Apply cer” as seen in “Screenshot 2″ above.

You need to fill the application form as shown in “Screenshot 3″ above. Find out the IMEI no of your Nokia 5230 by typing *#06# and fill it in the required field. After submitting the application form you have to wait for 24 hours.

Next day when you will login, click on “Signing Softs” as show above. Go to bottom of the page there you’ll get the option to upload file.

Download unsigned Helloox 2.03 and save it in your PC. Browse for the software enter Remark and click on “Submit and Upload” button.

You’re almost done. Download the signed version of Helloox 2.03 and install it in your Nokia 5230. After installing Go to Menu>Installed Apps>Helloox and run it. That’s it your phone is now hacked!

After hacking you will be able to add special folders(games, organizer, extras) in you 5230 or other 60v5 devices by editting the appshell data in your phone.It is very interesting. For details search in google ‘how to add specials folders in 5800.’

Guys after u hack ur phone using hellox , u need to download the certificate, registry entry,signsis.exe, and signsis tool. file from the same site. Its just there, below the u” apply and upload ” buttons.
After that run the tool,, add these cert,signsis. exe,reg entry and UR ANY UNSIGNED SIS FILE then give a name to ur new signed file and click on sign …
Now u have your own signed software or game…
U can do same for all the unsigned softwares or games… any more doubts mail me..

There must be one more application called ROM Patcher in your application folder.Open it and apply patch to both the files.After this you’ll be able to install any unsigned application.

if your Nokia 5230 Firmware is higher than v12.0.089, then helloox will not work on it.
With latest firmware, helloox will not work, the process will stop at installing root certificate…
Hacking allows it to install symbian softwares without signing, and access to the physical drive and more.
So the only way to install symbian software is signing the software yourself or download already signed software if the phone is not hacked.

Firmware v20.0.005 is hackable only through Phoenix or JAF. You just have to flash proper firmware and hack. Of course if you screw something, you’ll loose your warranty. Better wait for new HelloOX that can hack newest firmwares.

Those people who is having prob with hacking and the process stuck on unpacking files can format there MMC and run the helloox2 once again. But Real Prob starts at Installing root cert. after this process cell phone hangs on root cert.

I’m having same problems that phone just stucks at unpacking. I even tried to upgrade firmware and the same problem is still there. I just bought this 5230 two days ago so not sure has nokia done something to it lately that installing won’t work.

Hi guys,
Im using a 5233 a small tip..just sign the apps u wanna install and install em without modifying the phone it is safer that way..it is the same as signing the hellox file just sign the app u wanna install and use it..and i have tested it works

According to HelloOX2′s web site, it is only compatible up to v12.0.089 of the Nokia 5230′s firmware. If you have higher than this (check by typing #*0000# in your phone), it may not work whatsoever.

Hi all, I was looking around for two days for a pdf reader for my Nokia 5230. I discovered an alternative pdf reader for this model.
Try: AlternateReader

(it’s safe and free!)
Connect your mobile to your computer (mine is a Mac) as ‘Mass Device’ (the only way for my Mac to read my mobile).
1.Download the application file unto the computer and unzip the folder.
2. Drag the file (AlternateReader S9.4 1.08(4) Release International.sisx) into your mobile. Put in the folder called ‘Other’.
3. Detached your mobile from the computer. Go to ‘File Manager’ on your mobile.
4. Go inside your Memory Card. You will see the folder ‘Other’.
5. Open ‘Other’ and you will find the installer for AlternateReader S9.4 1.08(4) Release International.sisx.
6. Just click install.
To download/transfer pdf documents, simply do the same. Connect your mobile to the computer and transfer the files to ‘Other’ or Attachment.
To open pdf documents with AlternateReader, go Menu –> Applications –> Inst. apps –> AlternateReader.
Once open the reader, go to option –> Open File –> Select ‘Memory’ –> Attachments –> you will see those PDFs that you have downloaded.
After selecting, you will see the hour glass spinning. It may take a while to open the documents.

By the way, to go from one page to another, you can either tap your mobile twice or go to ‘option’ – go to page __ (no.).
You can zoom in and out as well as view it in full screen mode. To return to normal viewing mode from full screen mode, simple tap and hold till the option box pops up.

Hi there, I followed all your suggestions and got the helloox2 in installed apps, however when I click on it it goes as far as unpacking and stays there for hours with NO result, I also did not get the Rompatcher icon in installed apps and the phone is acting very strange now, won’t unlock apps etc. PLEASE help!
