Nokia 5230 itself has a built in file manager which is good enough but doesn’t offer much functionality as compared to some other 3rd party file managers.The one and only my most favorite file manager for S60 platform is Xplore which is not just a file manager but picture viewer, audio player, video player and file extractor.Along with copying and pasting a file from one location to other it can run popular graphics,audio and video formats.It can also extract zip and rar files.It also allows you to create text documents and there are plenty of shortcuts for fast operation.

DVD and HD movies have high resolution and frame rate.So, its difficult to play them on a mobile device due to limited processing power. So these days DVD and HD Rips are getting popular, but most of the smartphones support 3GP,WMV and MP4 format video out of the box, except few Samsung and LG smartphones. Do you like the Nokia 5230 virtual keyboard? I find it quite boring and in portrait mode it is only alphanumeric and I’m not fond of landscape mode as i have to use both the thumbs and i find it difficult to type that way.Have you tried the Opera Mini portrait QWERTY keyboard, I’m used to it and i prefer it over the default 5230 keyboard.
There are few keyboard applications which let you change the default keyboard to much better virtual keyboards in different layouts for easier and faster typing.

DayHand Input Virtual Keyboard by Malik -

The preinstalled Nokia 5230 calculator is not very responsive and many times it doesn’t process the input.Calculator is a very important tool for me, so i started searching for a more responsive calculator and i found few of them which are better than the default one.
The first two are very basic ones but work great for simple calculations.These 2 calculator applications are named Pocket Calculator and Calc Touch published by Offscreen. The third one is a Nokia application called handwriting calculator.It is based on handwriting recognition.For example write “2 + 2 =” with stylus and get the result as 4. Check out the screenshots and download the applications. They are all free.
